Commenting on SCDI's backing for changes to the way Holyrood is financed, Liberal Democrat Finance spokesperson Jeremy Purvis MSP said:

"It is beginning to get rather comic that the SNP are now trying to take credit for body after body supporting the Steel and Calman principles of greater powers for the Scottish Parliament within the UK. This is clearly the most credible way forward.

"Why is it that the SNP cannot concede not one of them has backed independence?

"Has independence become the SNP policy that dare not speak its name?"
